MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's basketball team made the short trip to Wisconsin Lutheran College on Wednesday night, as the Raiders offense struggled to get in rhythm in a 58-36 loss to the Warriors.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 36
Wisconsin Lutheran - 58
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wisconsin Lutheran (15-7, 12-1 NACC) came out firing, opening the game with back-to-back threes as the Warriors went on a 12-2 run to open the game. The Raiders (12-10, 8-5 NACC) would finally end their scoring drought after a three from Elly Kohl and a layup from Halena Hill. Trailing 17-7 to close the first quarter, the Red and White were looking to chip away at the WLC lead heading into the second. MSOE would shoot 50% from three in the second quarter and 46% overall from the field, but the Warriors were just as efficient, with the Raiders trailing 37-24 at the break.
- In the third quarter, the Warriors would draw three fouls early, forcing the Raider defense to play more conservatively down the stretch. On the other end of the court, the MSOE offense was unable to find an answer to the WLC defense, with the Raiders scoring just twelve points in the second half on 12% shooting. With three games left to play in the regular season, the Red and White currently sit 6th in the conference standings, with the top eight making the conference tournament.
