Swim & Dive Closes Regular Season at Liberal Arts Championships

RACINE, Wis. – The MSOE swimming & diving teams wrapped up their regular season this past week at the Liberal Arts Conference Championships that saw the men claim a third-place finish and the women finishing in fifth. The Raiders also swept the men's coaching awards, including head coach Joel Rollings being named men's coach of the year.

RESULTS
Men's Team – 3rd Place (389 points)
Women's Team – 5th Place (163 points)

MEN'S TEAM RECAP
  • Clayton Stewart dominated the week at the diving events, winning 3-meter dive with 335.25 points, while finishing second in the 1-meter dive with 322.35 points. Caleb Brewer was the champion in the 200-yard butterfly, winning the event in 1:51.44, while adding a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (49.57) and third place in the 100-yard backstroke (51.01).
  • In the distance events, Braedon Loeffelholz finished second in the 1650-yard freestyle in 16:51.04 and added a sixth place in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:53.17. In the individual medleys, Joven Langseth finished third in the 400-yard IM in 4:17.40 and finished fifth in the 200-yard IM in 1:56.11). Also adding a top five finish was Mateo Haeuser in the 100-yard breaststroke in fourth, swimming 57.67.
  • In the relays, the group of Brewer, Haeuser, Langseth, and William Terracina finished third overall in the 800-yard freestyle relay in 7:11.55. Garin Schilling, Terracina, Langseth, and Cayden Page finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:28.48.
WOMEN'S TEAM RECAP  
  • Jordan Konz had the highest finish for the women, finishing fourth in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:31.99. Jocelyn Katte also had a top five finish, taking fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:11.17. The group of Konz, Maya Majewski, Katte, and Ava Pike had a massive fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, recording a time of 1:44.45. Also adding a top-five relay finish was Katte, Lyndsey Diefenthaler, Konz, and Pike in the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 4:26.96 to finish fifth.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders close the regular season, a season that saw the men claim four team victories, while also having multiple top three finishes as well.
