HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (3-5, 1-2 NACC) trailed the Foresters (5-4, 4-0 NACC) after LFC went up 2-0 by the midway mark of the first quarter. Josh Scheibel would be the one to get the Raiders on the board, as the freshman recorded his third goal of the season at the 6:41 mark of the opening quarter. Carter Stahl would knot the game up with less than 90 seconds to play in the first quarter as the Raiders and Foresters were deadlocked at 2-2. Stahl would get the Raiders offense rolling, registering his second goal at the 11:39 mark of the second quarter, before adding an assist on a goal from Case Roberts to put MSOE up 4-2. The Raiders would add two man-up goals before the halftime break, as Scheibel and Cole Karst would up the Raiders offensive output, with MSOE up 6-4 at the half.
- In the second half, Karst would add his second goal of the game but the Foresters would continue to chip away at the MSOE lead, as the teams ended the third quarter deadlocked at 7-7 with 15 minutes left to play. Less than 90 seconds into the fourth quarter Karst would secure a hat trick thanks to a helper from Stahl, as MSOE took an 8-7 lead. With just over five minutes left in the contest, LFC would knot the game up at 8-8, before taking the lead a mere minute later. Despite a late push from Griffen Kaiser and the rest of the Raiders, a costly penalty allowed Lake Forest to convert on a man-up opportunity as MSOE fell to the Foresters by a final score of 10-8.
