MILWAUKEE – The MSOE softball team bounced back in a big way on Sunday afternoon, as the Raiders swept the Edgewood Eagles on their home turf, shortening both games as they triumphed in five innings twice.

MSOE RAIDERS - 10
Edgewood Eagles - 3
MSOE RAIDERS - 13
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- MSOE (10-14, 6-2 NACC) wasted little time jumping ahead of the Eagles (9-19, 4-8 NACC) as the Red and White added three runs in the very first inning, as Alyssa Jacobson and Olivia Beals recorded RBI single while Carlee Emery added a sacrifice fly to left field for a 3-0 Raider lead.
- Leading 7-2 in the bottom of the fifth, MSOE looked to shorten game one with the run rule, as Jenna O'Donnell singled up the middle with the bases loaded to bring the Raiders within one run of walking the game off. Jayda Nelson would come through in the clutch for MSOE, getting just enough on a fly ball to allow Autumn Sadler to tag up for the game-sealing run. Katie Pollock was dominant on the bump for the Raiders, striking out nine batters in just five innings of work.
- Game Two
- In game two MSOE wasted little time again, batting around the order in the very first inning, as the Red and White tagged the Eagles for six runs from jump street. A 2-RBI single from Nelson would spark the Raider rally, while a fielders choice from Reese Konczal put the Raiders up 6-0 after one.
- The Red and White would look to extend their lead and shorten the game once more coming down the stretch, as MSOE added two more runs in the second, leading 8-1 with a five-inning game in their sights. The Raiders would rally again in the third, adding five runs to their total on RBI hits from Nelson, Emery and Emma Smith, while Konczal drew a bases loaded walk to put the Raiders up 13-3. Despite a double from Edgewood in the top of the fifth, Brynn Timmer slammed the door on an Eagles comeback as the Raiders improved their conference record to 6-2.
