MILWAUKEE, Wis.– The MSOE men's lacrosse team went head-to-head with the Scarlet Hawks of Illinois Tech on Wednesday night, with the Raiders fighting tooth-and-nail to secure the win in a back-and-forth overtime thriller.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (5-5, 3-2 NACC) came out of the gates firing against the Scarlet Hawks (5-5, 4-1 NACC) as the Red and White took the lead just three minutes into the game on a goal from Case Roberts, with Roberts and Luke Neal building the MSOE lead to 3-0 by the 8:20 mark of the first quarter. The Scarlet Hawks would answer back, scoring three unanswered goals of their own, adding a fourth just before the first quarter buzzer as Illinois Tech led 4-3 after one quarter. In a low scoring second quarter, Cole Karst would add the equalizer, but Illinois Tech would knot the game up before the break, with the teams tied up at five goals apiece.
- In the second half, the Raiders would tie the game up once again on an unassisted effort from Jack Civottolo, but Tech would regain the lead with 4:08 left in the third quarter. Carter Stahl would add his first goal of the game with less then 90 seconds to play in the third quarter, before a Dawson Smith goal gave the Raiders their first lead since the first quarter just 51 seconds into the fourth. The Raiders would trade goals with the Scarlet Hawks coming down the stretch as the fourth quarter came to a close with the teams deadlocked at 8-8. Cole Karst would play hero for the Red and White, scoring the game winner just over 30 seconds into the overtime period as MSOE became the first team for defeat Illinois Tech in conference play this season.
