MILWAUKEE - Throughout the month of July, Raider Athletics will look back on the Top 10 moments of the 2024-25 season. Coming in at #1 is baseball reaching the NCAA regional final, becoming the first program in school history to win multiple NCAA tournament games
The Raiders season had a rocky start, coming out of Florida with a 4-8 record before conference play kicking off. Starting to find their new offensive identity, the Raiders began to roll through many opponents including three run-rule games in a six-game stretch, beginning to run away with their second straight regular season title.
Playing the conference tournament on their home diamond, the Raiders kicked things off with No. 5 Marian, taking a 4-3 victory to advance and take on the hot underdogs No. 6 Edgewood. A five-run first inning gave the Raiders massive momentum the rest of the way, defeating the Eagles 10-6, eventually having a rematch in the championship the following day. Zack Brzezinski masterclass on the mound, allowing just one hit, completely shut down the Eagles as the Raider offense continued to roll as they won 10-0 in seven innings to capture the title.
Drawing the regional at Webster, the Raiders dropped the opening game to the Gorloks before getting back on track the next day against Rhodes, winning 4-3 and finding themselves in a rematch with the Gorloks. The Raiders were able to strike first with a two-run fourth inning which proved to be the difference to reach the regional final, facing Belhaven. The Blazers' offense struck quickly, scoring five runs in the opening four innings to run away, ending the season.
The Raiders totaled ten All-Conference members, with
Kellen Pate,
Jack Kalitowski,
Christian Bosque, and
Joe Stried earning first team honors. Stried, Kalitowski, and Bosque each earned All-Region honors by D3baseball.com as well as by ABCA with
AJ Le. In his first season at the helm of the program, head coach
Adrian Santiago was also named Region VIII Coach of the Year.
