AURORA, Ill. - The MSOE women's soccer team surrendered a pair of early goals in the first half and could not mount a comeback in falling to Aurora 3-0 Tuesday afternoon at Vago Field.

The Raiders' (8-5-1, 4-2 NACC) four-game NACC wining streak was snapped as they were held without a goal for just the first time this season. The Spartans (11-3-1, 7-0 NACC) extended their unbeaten streak to 11 games (10-0-1).

MSOE was put in a hole early behind a pair of goals in the first 10-plus minutes, but did not relent and showed some life in the second half.

Nicci Bermudes scored the first of two goals in the match at 4:25 and Kaitlin Im Hof made it 2-0 just under six minutes later. The home team continued to pressure the Red & White defense throughout the first half. but the damage was maintained to the early goings.

The Raiders did have multiple scoring chances late, as sophomore Sara Travia hit the post in the 36th minute and junior Caitlin Liddiard had a shot pushed wide by the AU keeper in the waning seconds. She managed to follow with a dangerous corner kick into the box, but her team was unable to get a shot in front of the goal.

After conceding a 13-5 advantage in shots in the first half, MSOE turned up the pressure in the second half with an 11-6 edge in second-half shots.

Bermudes would add her second score in the 67th minute to seal the outcome.

Freshman keeper Mary McFee made seven saves in goal for the Raiders. Meanwhile, a pair of keepers matched that save total to secure the shutout.

MSOE returns to action Saturday, hosting Concordia Wisconsin at Viets Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
