ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – A group of the throwers for the MSOE track & field teams competed at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifer, hosted by Augustana College on Thursday, seeing
Jessa Alderman come away as a champion.
MEN'S TEAM RECAP
- William Tate was lone member of the men's team who competed, taking part in the discus. Tate's best throw of the prelims came on his second throw, tossing 49.79 meters to advance to the final. From there, Tate had his best throw on his final one, going over 50 meters for the first time with a toss of 50.20 meters, currently sitting 34th nationally.
WOMEN'S TEAM RECAP
- Alderman won the shot put, tossing 13.74 meters, her best throw coming on her first throw of the day. Josephine Jacklin finished sixth in the event with a toss of 12.98 meters, while Katrina Wawrzyn finished ninth with 12.42 meters. Jacklin also competed in the discus, finishing eighth with 40.99 meters.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will await the list of qualifiers for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships, coming in a press release from the NCAA tomorrow.
