GLENDALE, Wis. – Senior Andrew Kosasih won the decisive point at No. 6 singles to send the MSOE men's tennis team to a 5-4 win over Lawrence Sunday afternoon at Elite Sports Club.
The Raiders (4-6) swept the doubles points to snap a three-match losing streak and upend the Vikings for the second-straight season.
MSOE faced an injury in its No. 1 singles position, forcing head coach Mike Davidson to shuffle his lineup and add Kosasih in the No. 6 slot. His 7-6, 6-2 victory proved to be the decisive point in the match, snapping a 4-4 tie and sending the Raiders to victory.
Sophomore John Price added wins in both singles and doubles play on the day. It was his singles win, 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1, with pulled the Red & White even with Lawrence. He also teamed with sophomore Tom Smith for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
Seniors Zachary Dam and Matthew Slaughter teamed for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles, while sophomores David Gorodetsky and Mason Sauder formed a winning combination at No. 3, 8-3.
MSOE returns to the courts Friday, hosting Adrian.
