GLENDALE, Wis. - Junior Austin Campbell scored a win at No. 5 singles and the doubles pairing of juniors Mason Sauder and Kyle Fassbender won as the MSOE men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Carroll Saturday afternoon at Elite Club-River Glen.
The Raiders (2-9) also pushed a pair of matches to three sets in singles play, but could get no closer to the Pioneers.
Campbell scored his first singles win of the season in straight sets at No. 5, winning 6-4, 7-6 (7-3). In doubles play, Sauder and Fassbender won in the No. 2 position, 8-5.
Junior Tom Price at No. 2 singles and sophomore Ryan Runke at No. 3 won their first sets against their Carroll competition, but could not hold on in tough, three-set losses.
The Raiders return to action April 2 with the start of NACC play. They open against Edgewood in a rematch of the 2015 NACC Championship match.
