HOW IT HAPPENED
Things were looking good for MSOE (0-4, 0-0 NACC North) early on in game one, scoring three runs in the top of the first off a Micah Overley home run and a William Blank single, but Concordia Chicago (3-4, 0-0 NACC South) slowly creeped their way back into the ballgame. The Cougars started their climb back with two in the second and one in third before scoring eight in the bottom of the sixth after the Raiders had recovered a two-run lead. CUC would add two more in the seventh before plating three in the eighth, enacting the ten-run rule to close out game one.
The Red & White never saw the lead in the second contest of the day as the Cougars scored five runs in the first four innings. MSOE pulled with one in the top of the fifth with four runs, two of which came off a Justin Bickman triple. The Raiders would push across four more between their at bats in the seventh and eighth innings, but Concordia Chicago added five in each of their trips to the plate. This one would go the distance, but the Cougars doubled up the Raiders to take home the two-game sweep.
