Game Two
MSOE RAIDERS – 18
Wisconsin Lutheran – 7
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (7-7, 4-0 NACC North) was playing from behind for most of game one yesterday as Wisconsin Lutheran (5-16, 0-4 NACC North) scored five runs in the first five innings compared to just two for the Red & White. The Raiders shaved the WLC lead down to two in the top of the eighth before the Warriors got that back plus another run. Down 7-3 heading into MSOE's last at bats, the Wisconsin Lutheran pitching imploded. The home team allowed five Raiders to cross home plate, including one off a balk and another off a walk. Cole Raines came into shut WLC down in the bottom of the ninth, earning his second save of the year in the 8-7 win.
Seven runs were scored in the first inning of game two with the Warriors holding the 4-3 advantage going into the next frame. The Raiders offense took care of business from that point on, however. The Red & White scored two in the second, four in the third, and one in the fourth before adding eight more runs to their total between the sixth and ninth innings. Nick Stricker had four RBIs, Charlie Gannon and Kyle Ladedz each had three, and Riley Wikel picked up his second win of the year as the Raiders complete the four game sweep.
