Box Score GLENDALE, Wis. – MSOE baseball was back in action on Friday afternoon just a few days removed from a wild extra innings comeback against UW-Oshkosh on Sunday. The Raiders kept the positive energy going and used an opportunistic offense to grab a 9-6 win against Carroll at home.
RESULTS
Carroll – 6
MSOE RAIDERS – 9
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (5-8) got on the board early by taking advantage of two Carroll (6-10) errors on the first two Raider batters of the afternoon. Blake Hall singled and Micah Overley grounded out to the right side to each bring home an RBI.
- After the Pioneers tied the game in the top of the second, the Red & White added another four to their total in their half of the inning. Errors came into play once again allowing Nolan Wojciechowski to come around for the first tally. Brandon Beauchamp had a sac fly for an RBI and Chris Barnes doubled two batters later to score a pair.
- Another Carroll error brought one Raider run around in the bottom of the fifth and a sac fly from Hall paired with a single from Overley in the eighth rounded out the scoring at nine runs for MSOE.
- Down 9-2, the Pioneers brought around four runs to get within reach in the top of the ninth centered around two Raiders miscues. However, it wasn't enough to prevent the Red & White from walking away with a three run win.
