HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- Concordia Chicago (5-9, 0-2 NACC) took control early in the opening game of the twin bill against MSOE (7-8, 2-0 NACC) this afternoon. The Cougars scored a run in both the first and second innings to jump out to a 2-0 lead.
- It would take five innings, but the Raiders answered back in a big way. The Red & White plated five runs to take the lead with Josh Beier, Nolan Wojciechowski, Blake Hall, Micah Overley, and Collin Truitt each driving home a teammate.
- CUC wouldn't go down easily though. They scored three in the top of the seventh to tie the ballgame. That stalemate would be short lived however thanks to a Kyle Labedz two out single to drive in the winning run in the other half of the same frame.
- Nolan Vincent came on in relief to get the two inning save and Jeffery Stanish picked up his third win of the season out of the bullpen.
- Game Two
- Thankfully no extra drama was needed in game two. MSOE immediately put up a five spot in the bottom of the first and only allowed three CUC runs to score the rest of the way.
- Josh Beier had the big blow in the first with an bases clearing double, and the Raiders added another run in the fifth before plating two more in the eighth.
- Tyler Gronert went the distance to pick up his fourth win of the season. He struck out ten and allowed only six hits as the Raiders sweep the Cougars with a five-run win.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders snapped a three-game losing streak to the Cougars with their come from behind victory in game one this afternoon.
