Box Score GLENDALE, Wis. – After a day of rest, the MSOE baseball team kept their bats firing as two four-run innings helped lead to a shutout victory over Carthage College.
RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 8
Carthage - 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A quiet three innings changed in the bottom of the fourth as the first three MSOE (9-2) batters worked to bases loaded as Kyle Labedz hit a fly ball to right field that brought Blake Hall in to score on a sacrifice fly. A walk from Sam Meidenbauer loaded the bases again for Nolan Wojciechowski, who cleared the bases with a triple to make the game 4-0.
- Another big inning for the Raiders in the next inning as a leadoff walk and stolen base from Blake Hall eventually came around to score on a Micah Overley double, eventually moving over to third. Overley came in to score on a pass ball to make the game 6-0. Batters later, Robert Erickson brought two runs in to score to cap off another four-run inning to make the game 8-0.
- While Carthage (5-9) out hit the Raiders, the final four innings were in command by Tyler Gronert as he picked up the save with six strikeouts and only giving up three hits.
