NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced their All-Academic Honors for the 2025 track & field season, with the MSOE track & field team having five members receiving honors.
Three members of the men's team earned honors, with
Evan Ploeckelman,
Adam Shaw, and
AJ Springer, while the women's side had two members with
Jessa Alderman and
Josephine Jacklin.
Ploeckelman was the NACC Track Athlete of the Meet at the indoor conference championship, winning the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash in 6.89 and 22.39, respectively, while running a school record time 6.86 in the prelim.
Shaw was a two-time second team all-American during the track season, finishing 15
th in the mile prelim at the indoor championships and finishing eleventh in the 1,500-meter final in the outdoor season. He also was a two-time conference champion, three additional all-conference finishes, and three school records. This is Shaw's second All-Academic honors this season, earning honors in the fall during the Cross Country season.
Springer qualified for the indoor national championship in the 800-meter run, finishing 19
th in the prelim. Springer set a school record in the event, running 1:52.76, and won the event at the conference championship in 1:56.19.
Alderman qualified for her second career indoor national championship in the shot put, finishing 18
th overall in the prelim. She also set three school records enroute to conference titles and two more all-conference finishes.
Jacklin set personal bests in the shot put, hammer throw, and discus during the outdoor season, helping claim two all-conference finishes. She also set a new personal best in the weight throw during the indoor season and also won the shot put at the Windy City Rumble on February 1
st.
