Box Score PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Sophomore Shaylan Reardon scored 27 points to lead four players in double-figures and lead the MSOE women's basketball team to a 79-61 victory over Lakeland Wednesday evening at Woltzen Gymnasium.
The Raiders (14-5, 10-4 NACC) shot 53.4 percent from the field in hooking the Muskies (6-13, 6-9 NACC) for their 14th win of the season, second-most in school history.
Reardon scored her points on an efficient 13-of-17 shooting, the fourth-most field goals made in a game in school history. Sophomore Holly Denfeld shot 7-for-10 on her way to 18 points and added four blocked shots.
Sophomore Margaret Pugh scored 11 points and junior Megan Kroll had an all-around strong game with 10 points seven assists, five rebounds and three steals.
Bailey Grayvold and Mikayla Hilton scored 12 points apiece to pace Lakeland. Rachel Stankevich also reached double-digits in scoring with 10.
An 18-3 run early in the first half, shot the Raiders past the Muskies and into the lead for good. The home team had held a 12-9 advantage at 15:21, but by the 8:53 mark MSOE had seized control of the game at 27-15.
The Red & White led 41-33 at halftime, with LC making it a six-point game at 41-35 early in the frame. The Raiders quickly re-established their dominance with another extended run, this time 17-4, and opened up their largest lead of the game at 58-37.
MSOE had an all-around efficient offensive game, hitting on 6-of-14 three-point attempts and 11-of-14 from the free throw line. The team committed just 11 turnovers in the game. Defensively, it held Lakeland to 39.7 percent shooting and just seven free throw attempts in the game.
The Raiders return to the floor Saturday, hosting Rockford.
