Box Score 2 MADISON, Wis. – Karlie Klossner hurled Edgewood's first no-hitter since 2010 in game one and the MSOE softball team was unable to push a run across the plate in game two in falling in a road doubleheader sweep 1-0 and 5-0 Monday afternoon at Ceniti Park.
The Raiders (10-12, 3-5 NACC) offensive woes against the Eagles (6-16, 2-6 NACC) undermined a strong performance in the circle by sophomore Shannon Curtis in game one.
MSOE was, coincidentally, Edgewood's last no-hit victim April 26, 2010. On this day, Klossner struck out two in seven innings and allowed just one base runner in freshman Gabbi Garcia reaching on an error in the seventh inning.
Curtis (6-7) was outdueled, despite yielding just five hits in a complete game effort, conceding a single run and striking out two.
In game two, the Eagles struck for a single run and effectively put the game out of reach with three runs in the third.
Garcia had two of the Raiders' five hits in the game, as Rachel Dejongh struck out six and walked three in the nightcap.
MSOE returns to the diamond Wednesday, playing at Alverno in the second of four doubleheaders this week.
