Box Score PLYMOUTH, Wis. – MSOE women's basketball wrapped up a three-game road trip on Wednesday evening, taking on the Muskies of Lakeland University. Unfortunately, the Raiders got off to a poor offensive start and their second half comeback just wasn't good enough to avoid their second straight defeat.
RESULTS
MSOE – 60
Lakeland – 76
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (6-14, 6-9 NACC) scored just 18 points in the first half of the ballgame, something that would have been more manageable if the Lakeland (9-12, 9-7 NACC) offense wasn't executing like a well-oiled machine. The Muskies scored 41 in the first two quarters of the contest, a total that they would come close to matching in the second half as well. Even down by 23, the Raiders certainly didn't throw in the towel. They increased their shooting percentage from 26.1 to 54.5 in the final two quarters and scored a total of 42 points. The Red & White were just unable to slow down a Lakeland offense who shot 50.9 percent overall in the game and converted on 10 three pointer attempts. One bright spot to come out of the ballgame was the performance of Amy Reiser. The junior set a new career high in points with 21, which coupled with 12 rebounds gave her the fourth double-double of her 2019-20 season. Ultimately, the Raiders fell for the second time this month in a 16 point defeat which puts them three games behind the final playoff spot with five to go.
