Road Woes Continue For Women's Basketball

Box Score

MILWAUKEE – Still looking for their first win of the month, MSOE women's basketball hoped to reverse their fortune in close games when they made the trek north to take on Lakeland. Unfortunately, a high scoring opening frame from the Muskies prevented an efficient Raiders offense from catching up in an eight point loss on the road.

FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 60
Lakeland – 68

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The MSOE offense got off to another good start in tonight's contest against Lakeland, but it was their defense that caused their issues in the first quarter. The Raiders scored 14 opening frame points on 41.7 percent shooting but the Muskies were nearly twice as good with 24 tallies and made their shots at a 55.6 percent clip.
  • The Red & White kept pace in both the second and third periods but weren't able to gain any ground. They were outscored by a combined total of only three points in those 20 minutes which gave them a 13 point hole to try and climb out of with one quarter to go.
  • The Raiders had their best production in that fourth stanza and went 7-10 from the field. Four different Red & White players scored a pair of buckets and they were able to outpace Lakeland by five because of that effort. Unfortunately, even with the comeback they were still eight points short come the final buzzer in a 68-60 defeat.

  • The Raiders woes against Lakeland continued this evening which pushed their record in the last ten meeting between themselves and the Muskies to 1-9.
