HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bridgewater (Va.)
- Sarah Grossman held things down on in the circle as zero scoring happened until the fourth inning. Caroline Fouras put the first run on the board with a double into left field that brought Lauren Stefanczyk home to score. Bridgewater (2-6) answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning with a run of their own to tie the game at one a piece.
- MSOE (6-2) turned to long ball for the first-time season in the fifth inning as Alyssa Jacobson sent the ball over the right field fence for the first home run of the season. A few batters later, Morgan Long decided it was her turn for a home run, blasting one into centerfield to score her and Reagan Jordan to give the Raiders a 4-1 lead.
- The Eagles had a rally of their own in the bottom of the sixth scoring four runs to retake the lead 5-4. In the top of the seventh after a fly out, Grace Salaja and Faith Matta each reached base as Jenna Trewyn singled into the center to bring Salaja home to tie the game. Long stepped up to the plate next and blasted another home run to give the Raiders an 8-5 lead heading into the final frame. Grossman returned to the circle for the final three batters, going three-up three-down to seal it.
- Adrian
- The Raiders struck early in the bottom of the second inning as a hard groundball from Salaja forced an error from Adrian (6-1) to bring Fouras home to score to get the game started. The game remained quiet until the fifth inning when Trewyn brought Matta into score after hitting into a fielder's choice. More cushion was added in the sixth inning as Salaja doubled into center field scoring Fouras.
- Grossman stayed in the circle in game two and pitched lights out for the Raiders. The senior pitched all seven innings only allowing four hits and was backed by a strong defense never allowing more than one Bulldog on base.
