NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The MSOE men's track & field team kicked off their 2025 indoor season at the Cardinal Opener, hosted by North Central College. The Raiders finished with a third-place overall finish, highlighted by a new school record from
Daniel Geerts.

- Geerts kicked off his collegiate career, setting a new school record in the prelim of the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.58, taking .16 seconds off the previous record. He went on to win the final in 8.60 and added a third-place finish in the high jump going 1.83 meters. AJ Springer put his name early on in national qualifying conversation in the mile, finishing third in 4:22.66, which is currently 15th nationally.
- The Raiders swept the 5,000-meter run freshman Nolan Pinion leading the way in 15:32.86, followed by Zach Zuzzio and Patrick Lee just behind him in 15:48.48 and 15:52.13, respectively. Thomas Kiefer won the pole vault, vaulting 4.45 meters, which is currently 28th nationally, and Cameron O'Brien finishing third with 3.80 meters. The throws added two more third-place finishes, first with Ethan Wrasman in the shot put with a toss of 14.63 meters which is 38th nationally, along with Elijah Villa in the weight throw throwing 15.66 meters.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will have next weekend off before heading to Whitewater for the Karl Schlender Invitational. The meet is set to start at 11:00 AM with the field events and 12:00 PM for the running events.
