RIPON, Wis. – With their final chance to punch their tickets to the NCAA Indoor National Championships next weekend, four school records were broken for the MSOE track & field team at the Ripon Final Qualifier.
MEN'S TEAM RECAP
- Adam Shaw rebroke his school record yet again in the mile run, winning the event in 4:10.12, which currently sits 18th nationally. Xander Gottner continued to lower his school record and add another sub-15 5,000-meter time indoors, finishing second running 14:45.41. Daniel Geerts, coming off his Freshman of the Meet award, lowered his school record in the 60-meter hurdles, running 8.39 to win the event. Elijah Villa added the final school record of the meet, finishing fifth in the weight throw, tossing 17.14 meters.
- Sam McPeak finished victoriously in the 3,000-meter run, going 8:45.04. Evan Ploeckelman, fresh off his Track Athlete of the Meet award last weekend, finished second in the 60-meter dash 6.97 seconds, while adding another second-place finish in the 200-meter dash in 22.95. AJ Springer also added a second-place finish, running 1:54.72 in the 800-meter run.
WOMEN'S TEAM RECAP
- Jessa Alderman led the women in the throwing department, finishing second in the shot put with a mark of 13.46 meter, and fourth in the weight throw tossing 16.41 meters. Josephine Jacklin finished fourth in the shot put, throwing 13.07 meters, which currently sits 43rd nationally, while Katrina Wawrzyn finished fifth with 12.91 meters. Kylie Crum finished fifth in the weight throw with 15.93 meters, while Wawrzyn finished eighth with 14.83 meters.
