Box Score MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The MSOE men's soccer team surrendered a pair of second-half goals and could not recover in falling to No. 20 North Park, 2-0, on the first day of the Raider Invitational Friday afternoon at MSOE Field.
The Raiders (1-1-2) will now play in the consolation match of the tournament against Calvin, Saturday at 11 a.m. With the win, the Vikings (2-0) will take on No. 25 Loras for the tournament crown at 1 p.m.
After playing a scoreless opening half, NPU got on the board just minutes after the intermission. After an MSOE corner kick, the Vikings quickly countered, working the ball down the field with Jonas Pettersson finishing off a through ball from Fredrik Greiff in the 48th minute.
Greiff set up an insurance goal 25 minutes later, this time assisting on a Carl Damberg score.
Both teams hit the woodwork in the match, with sophomore Logan Andryk (Hartland, Wis./Marquette) blasting a shot that skimmed off the top late in regulation. Andryk led the Raiders with five shots in the contest.
