Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's soccer was able to salvage one point on Wednesday in a 1-1 tie with CUW, but the Raiders wanted more than just that. With Dominican standing in their way, the Red & White used that drive to send the Stars home with a shutout loss at Viets Field on Saturday afternoon.
RESULT
Dominican – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE's (7-3-2, 5-0-1 NACC) defense had to be on top of their game in the first half as Dominican (8-3-0, 5-2-0 NACC) outshot the good guys 14-2. In fact, the Raiders ended the period without a shot on goal.
- That all changed in the second frame, however. The Red & White had a one-shot advantage on the Stars and broke the scoreless tie with a beautiful goal from Lukas Schwenke in the 59th minute, a tally that was assisted by Freddy Comparato.
- Zach Thompson helped Comparato followed up with a strike of his own just four minutes later to give the Raiders all the scoring they would need to take home the victory.
- The remainder of the contest got a little chippy with four cards handed out in the final 25 minutes but the Red & White held their ground to send the Stars home with the loss.
- With the win, the Raiders hand Dominican their second defeat of the NACC season and now stand as only one of two teams without a loss in conference play.
